F H Ayres Spring Stand.
Rare and beautiful, gentle looking face with great presence. He has been fully restored
over original sound gesso and so holds a few historic blemishes. Authentically finished in
the style of the origianl Ayres factory finish. Unfortunately the stand had to be replaced as
the timber was all but gone but he suffered no real problems apart from his ear tips.
Typical of the design he had frill trimmed royal blue saddlecloth and rosettes denoting a
‘top of the range’ model and comes with added detailed carving on including a carefully
carved tongue.
