 | Mr Tumnus Super F H Ayres rocking horse standing a cute 34" tall. Overall stand length 38" This little chap has the remains of a number '2' stamped on his forehead which is thought to be the carvers i.d. mark. He is dated around Circa1890-1900 and unusually, has a beautifully crisp F H Ayres brass plaque, original and attached to his stand. He has been restored and antiqued and has been fitted with the original leather saddle which was 'unearthed' from under past restorations of the tack. New tack was matched to the saddle. The remaining tack, sadly was too fragile to save with the exception of the decorative old Ayres discs. A decorative piece which will fit anywhere. - Room for a little one?

 | Doublet A very unusual horse made by J R & T Smith He is a charming extra carved Swing stand nursery rocker with authntic replica cane chairs. O/A height 45"
Charming horse which has been restored over his original Gesso so still retains all the bumps and blemishes he has 'earned' over the years. Probably made around the early 1900's this charming horse is original as is his stand and metal brackets ect but sadly had lost the chairs and the metal supports. therefore the chairs ans supporting metal frame are replacments.

 | Cresta Lovely Cresta! This exceptioal horse thought to be dated around the early to mid Victorian period but this only an approximation.. He is of unkown make, as so many of the older bow rocking horses which are still found. He has been sympathetically restored to preserve what little there was of the original dapple coat pattern so he still bears all his chips and wrinkles typical of a gent of his years, To remain in keeping with the coat he has been restored with aged and distressed tack complete with sidesaddle pommel . Notice the very unusual bit which came with him complete with double reins and the carved wooden eyes, another indication that he has quite an age about him. He will come complete with the Victorian china doll {from a dolls house,}which was found inside him. He is beautifully balanced in regard to body carving and although plain carved, in his case, less is more. Very finly structured, he has the usual unnotched hoofs. Sadly this original bow was all but destroyed by the combination of woodworm, rot and breaks. He is pictured on a 'surrogate' bow but a replica of the original is presently being constructed but for all tence and purpose will be the same dimensions as the one shown. Unusually he has carved wooden eyes and very fine facial detail and has a delightful carved tongue but no teeth which is more accurate to a real horse being checked back. Overall height 41" Overall length 70"
A very handsome and elegant gentleman.

 | Dreamer Dreamer. Beautiful Dreamer in fact. This lovely bow rocking horse, on first look was thought to be an Ayres but there are several inconsistances which have convinced us this is not the case. His neck is long , shapely, and extra carved, the body long with a well defined dock at the top of the tail. There is no other extra carving on the horse apart from the neck. The face is very fine with a sharp nasel bone, well observed jaw with small tongue. The bow. which is original to hthe horse is quite shallow reducing the horses overall height which belies his actual size. An exceptionally beautiful horse regardless of pedigree.
